It all sounds fantastic, but we were wondering…?

12 OF THE MOST FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS WE RECEIVE

1. How long must we be in Rhodes before our ceremony?

Greece no longer has a set residency period before visitors here are able to be married. However, we do recommend that clients arrive here at least 5 days prior to their ceremony date in order to be able to meet with us again and finalise their plans in a relaxed and calm atmosphere. It is therefore completely possible to travel to Rhodes for a period of a week, and leave being legally married during your stay.

2. How far in advance can we book?

We are currently accdepting bookings for 2013, 2014, 2015 and so on. This is for bookings made with US. As soon as the Authorities start to take and confirm bookings for a particular year we will make your arrangements as soon as possble. Generally this will be around 12-18 months before your chosen date.

Your deposit payment will only become due once the Authorities have accepted and confirmed your date.

3. Are there any particularly busy times of the year?

As you might expect, school holidays result in quite busy periods here on Rhodes, with wedding day bookings being affected. Generally the busiest times of the year are the Spring Half-Term break (normally late May-early June) and late August going into September. Early booking for these periods is strongly recommended.

4. We have booked with another company, are you able to help us with our extra services?

Subject to availability we are able to help arrange for our Suppliers to be available to couples who have booked their wedding arrangements elsewhere. This is to ensure that our own Clients needs are catered for first and foremost. Although we can help with booking extras, we are unable to help with co-ordination unless our Wedding Essentials Package has been booked

Please email us for further details.

5. We've noticed some companies include Legal Paperwork fees in their packages, why don't you?

Every couple is different, and each has their own unique set of personal circumstances. Past couples have had different numbers of papers to submit and some have taken care of this process themselves prior to coming to Rhodes. Although we offer a translation and preparation service this is treated as an optional extra and charged seperately.Help and advice with the collation of your paperwork is included as part of our Wedding Essentials Package.

6. Is it possible to discuss prices before we book?

Absolutely! However please bear in mind that as we work very differently from other companies many of our services are bespoke and priced upon your exact requirements. We are happy to give 'from prices' based upon our past experience but ultimately the final price for bespoke orders will be dependent upon the details.

Prices for set services such as entertainment & Photography etc can be given easily. Just email us for details.

7. Are there any 'Hidden Costs'

No! We pride ourselves on offering a “what you see is what you get” pricing scheme. All costs are discussed with your Wedding Planner and will be included and detailed in your final statement which will be sent to you one month before your ceremony date. This allows you plenty of time to recheck your budget and make any necessary adjustments.

No hidden fees, ever!

8. Is Lindos Weddings a Greek company?

Although wholly owned and operated by a British couple, Lindos Weddings is fully registered with the Greek Government and the Dodecanese Chamber of Commerce as a Greek company. This makes us quite unique among the wedding planning companies here on Rhodes. British owned and fully independent with no conflicting business interests.

9. Who will be looking after us throughout the whole process

From the very outset you are in the capable hands of a very experienced team of wedding professionals. Both Karen, Laurence and all of their staff have proven track records when it comes to organising and planning all kinds of events here on Rhodes, having been at the very forefront of the growth of the wedding industry here. As company owners they are also present in Rhodes to personally plan and oversee every ceremony for their clients, vitally important in the event of a last minute change being forced upon us.

10. Do you work only with British couples?

Absolutely not. Although we initially aimed our service at helping British couples enjoy a fabulous wedding day here in Rhodes, we have over the years now worked with a variety of nationalities. These have included people from Ireland, France, America, Canada, Australia, Poland, Italy, Germany and South Africa. The rules that regulate who can enjoy a legally vaild ceremony here are basically same the same for MOST nationalites, but if you are considering marrying here and have any concerns, please do contact us first. We are happy to offer all the help and advice that we can.

  • The Euro?
  • The weather?

Will Greece return to the Drachma?

Everyone knows about the upheaval that Greece has faced economically over the past year or so and the on-going talk regarding Greece possibly exiting the Euro and returning to the Drachma. Please do not worry about this happening. Although possible, a Euro exit is thought to be highly unlikely at the current time and even if it did come to pass, plenty of notice will be given.
